Estes attempts to recapture the glory days of motion pictures from a rocket like the old Cineroc. Did they succeed? Read on..
The Estes Oracle rocket is a modern version of the Estes Cineroc movie camera payload sold by Estes around 1970-75. It houses a digital video camera in the nose cone. The camera’s lens points out the side of the nose cone, and a small shrouded mirror angles the camera’s view towards the ground. The kit comes mostly assembled, with software to download video to a computer.
Video taken from the rocket, is shot at about 15 frames per second, or, about half of videos normal frame rate of around 30. As a result, the video is a bit choppy, but still watchable and entertaining. I will post some videos soon.
