Cheap “Cinceroc” Rocket for the Modern Age

By | Mar 3, 2022
The Cineroc was a remarkable device. A marvel in simplicity, the Cineroc was a movie camera that fit inside the nose of a model rocket, providing the viewer a first-person view of what it would be like to ride in a model rocket. Manufactured from 1970-75, the Cineroc left a void when it was discontinued, is now a considered a collectors item. Today you can recreate the Cineroc experience for a few bucks using a widely available and cheap “keychain” video camera. These little devices shoot video and sound. It’s a simple matter of taping one to the outside of your model rocket, and you’re in business. I gave this a go over the weekend and here’s the result: [wordbay]keychain video camera[/wordbay]
