This is awesome. And I just heard that the Sand Scorcher is up for re-release this fall (2009). I was hoping that they would re-release the Super Champ, but seeing as how they called this the "Buggy Champ", I'm a little concerned.

I want to live my child hood dream of owning all the SRB's. Rough Rider, Super Champ, Sand Scorcher and F-150.

This is pretty damn cool that Tamiya is bringing back so many classics.

This kit is absolutely fantastic if you are a true fan of the srb-family. Let´s make one thing clear, this is not a rerelease like the Frog or Grasshopper. By the first glance everything looks the same, but a closer inspection reveals that few parts are identical with the original ones. Some parts, like the front suspension arms or the oildampers are completely worked over, others has tiny changes or are marked with "1979 2009 Tamiya".
Personly I think it´s great. No crooked seller can ever claim this car is a vintage Rough Rider and try to profit from it, and the changes makes it, in my humble opinion, a mush better runner.
Hopefully the differences between vintage and new will help to preserve the interest in the original cars and perhaps make it even bigger!

Yeaa! I'am so glad that Tamiya finally came out with something that's really a true classic, but do not get me wrong they have re'released some good ones like the frog, hot shot grass hopper,hornet...etc. I only wished that they would of put the orignal speed controller in the buggy champ that would of maid it all complete. I glad that this great company is doing what fans like my-self is doing;because we all been waiting for these modles to come out and re-live our child hood lives "Fantastic".
