I did not have the same problem as everyone here. My code it worked properly and so the software. However the Sygic , the GPS software is outdated and so are the maps. The latest maps are 2009.03 but the one provided with the CD are 2008.7, the latest Sygic is 7.71 but there is no link to update the program. I do agree with everyone here that Archos are extremely "bad" to answer to emails. They never replay beack to the issues I had with my Archos. It's a same we do not have acess to the code so we can program better function into the device.

That's too bad. I will never buy a product from Archos again without googling reviews first. It's hard to believe the lack of support from Archos on this activation issue. It's got to be a well-known problem for them, yet they refuse to put a system in place that reliably remedies the problem. They should have a clear, easy to find solution on their website. Instead, they offer none and let us buyers fumble around in the dark before we finally resort to calling, waiting forever on hold, and never getting the promised email with the new activation code. What kind of a support system is that? Even if we have to resort to calling, why the heck can't they send out the activation emails reliably? How hard can that be?
