Ever since my debacle with the Archos GPS cradle, I’ve given up on using the Archos 5 as a GPS device. On April 9, Archos released a firmware update for the Archos 5. One of the updates listed in the release notes is “GPS Car Holder Support”. I have no idea what that means, but maybe, just maybe it fixes the activation issue.
